Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on April 26th in 1991. She's an American artist and songwriter, as well as the first artist to be signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. In October 21st, 2016 she dropped Pho, her debut EP on the label Dreamville Records. It was at this point that she gained her first the attention of her peers. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It was released in May 2019. Ari Lennox posted her music online in 2012 after she released her five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. In 2014 she continued to upload her music via the web, including her own launched single Bound. On July 21st, 2015. Omen included her in Elephant Eyes' track"Sweat It Out. J. Cole asked her to work with him on Rihanna's reference. In the following calendar, her songs was circulating all over Dreamville. On December 28, 2008 the news was made public that Rihanna had been signed to Dreamville Records. Backseat, a track she sang alongside Cozz on her Revenge of the Dreamers II collaboration album. In October 2016 the singer-songwriter released her debut EP, Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track and also opened the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018, she appeared on two songs alongside her label-mates EarthGang for Nothing but the Best. and Bas On Icarus. On July 16 2018 Ari Lennox released the first single, Whipped Cream of her album debut Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video, which was released on September 5. She released her second single, Grampa on November 9. On November 13 she then released two more singles called The No One as well as Pedigree. The singer appeared alongside Cole on The Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby the 16th of November 16and later released the song as a single by herself for her first album. In February of 2019, the video music for the track was launched. The track has garnered over 3 million YouTube views in just one week. In December 2018 she was performing as a support act on From East Atlanta With Love Tour. From East Atlanta With Love Tour together with 6LACK.
